Wooly Boogers! That’s what folks in the South called the hairy man-like beasts who prowl the night and periodically emerge from the deserts and forests. The oldest story of a Sasquatch encounter in Texas is the Bear King of Marble Falls, recorded in an 1899 newspaper story. Some of the classic reports from the 1960s are revisited - The Lake Worth Monster, The Caddo Critter, The Hawley Him, the Haskell Rascal! A policeman recalls his multiple encounters with the creatures, having run into one in his childhood, then again as a police officer, in 2015 over several different incidents, and even in his time working with the Clamato Ranger District in the Gila National Forest. Joe and Walter recall their hair raising encounters in the Sam Houston National Forest, where Walter thought he was about to be attacked by a creature. Chuck in Oklahoma recalls his first encounter late one night in an isolated location along the Cimmaron River. Video of a long trackway from a family of creatures is showcased, as it wraps around the frozen lake on Annabeth’s cattle ranch. And Forrest and Jessica recount the ongoing activity on Forrest’s ranch in Burnet Texas, where the creatures emerge at night and tear doors off of barns and peal open the doors of feed trailers. The latest activity has been in June of 2025 when a large creature was seen watching Forrest feeding her horses. It left 18 inch tracks. These accounts and many others are highlighted in this fascinating collection of witness encounters, police testimony and historical appearances of the elusive North American Ape we know as Sasquatch, or Bigfoot. And in the vast area of the American Southwest they are known as Wooly Boogers!
